We recently made major improvements to DakClassroom. Our curriculum was the first of its kind, and now enrolling in the new and improved DakClassroom provides an even more usable, relevant and accessible experience for educators and students alike. Here are some of the highlights.
Online curriculum and resources
The Event Production Curriculum is fully updated to provide a CTE-aligned program that is available online and includes lesson plans, a teacher guide, simulations for students and more. It all adds up to provide students with the technical terminology and production requirements they need for a successful game day.
The teacher guide helps educators build their program from day one if they’re new to event production, while providing more advanced guidance for more experienced teachers and established programs.
Every chapter of the curriculum – from fundamentals of video display production to creating content to comprehensive event production – includes a PowerPoint presentation that can be used a teaching aid in the classroom.
Educators may also take advantage of expert coaching with the opportunity for an annual event production consultation with a network of experts and a classroom activity consultation with other experienced educators.
Advanced opportunities for students
Students taking the DakClassroom curriculum may earn a certificate of completion at the end of their first semester in the event production class. They can also receive recognition for their work when educators enter their content into a Daktronics showcase.
Perhaps best of all, students can take advantage of Crew Connect, the program that connects students in event production to universities with Daktronics equipment. This provides students a way to earn money and enrich their education. We will even help them build their resumes and portfolios so they can thrive at a collegiate level.
