Daktronics COB displays provide high-contrast, wide-angle imagery on a thin, lightweight LED canvas that saves energy and reduces thermal waste. Distinguished by its proprietary deep-black protective coating, these narrow pixel pitch displays dramatically elevate contrast, resulting in bold imagery. The surface encapsulant also serves as a protective barrier to reduce chances of damage during installation, operation or maintenance.
Flexible Display Size and Placement
COB LED panels are available in a variety of pixels spacing, so the resolution can match your application. The screens feature a 16:9 aspect ratio to best complement common broadcast standards. The touchable LED screens are mounted directly to the ultra-thin cabinet for a no-interference viewing experience for increased flexibility.

Direct Mounting
COB uses red, blue, and green LEDs directly mounted to the display circuit board. This direct mounting approach eliminates the need for wire bonds and the traditional packaging that is standard for SMD and IMD LEDs.

Enhanced Contrast
A visual breakthrough, our deep-black matte encapsulant darkens the black state of the display to make colors and ultra-fine details pop off the screen. The combination of the deep black surface and matte finish creates superior contrast and image quality in all types of ambient lighting conditions.
Fortified LED Protection
Daktronics-engineered matte-black surface is constructed using a thin, transparent barrier infused with matte-black particles. Backed by decades of design expertise, our superior surface coating ensures fortified protection of the LEDs while enhancing contrast and reducing surface glare.
Beginning with a raw printed circuit card with exposed red, green, and blue flip-chip light-emitting diodes, a contrast enhancement is then robotically applied between and around each individual diode. Finally, a matte-finish surface encapsulant reduces ambient light reflection and protects the panel surface. The result is an easy-to-clean, touchable surface, making it the perfect solution for close-encounter and busy environments.
