The Outdoor Advertising Association of America (OAAA) launched a new PSA campaign this week encouraging people to vote in the upcoming presidential election. The campaign, titled “Vote to Count,” shines a light on the labels that define us, but also highlights the importance of being a voter.
The campaign is generating a lot of buzz on social media due to the Label Generator on the www.votetocount.com website. The Label Generator allows you to pick three labels that define you (patriotic, veteran, black, white, gay, straight, etc.) but also leaves the label “Voter” on everything it makes.
In a world largely dominated by social media, this campaign allows people to publically show their pride in being a registered voter. It’s pushing a younger generation to the polls, which is always an issue when it comes up during an election year.
At Daktronics, we are proud to label ourselves as honest, humble and helpful, but we also take pride in our employees being active voters in both the community and nation. What are your labels?
If you are an OAAA member, you can reach out to the association to receive free “Vote to Count” artwork for your digital displays and share this campaign in your communities.
You can follow this campaign on twitter with the hashtag #VoteToCount or even by following the @VoteToCount twitter account. Head over to votetocount.com to create your own label to show your friends your intentions to vote this year.
