For those with DMP-7000(s) in their system, here are some tips from our experts on how to keep it running healthy.
- Run v7chkrif once a week with heavy file creation or once a month with average use. The v7chkrif program checks all DMP-7000 sequences and .avi files for corruption. It does not repair the files. Corrupt DMP-7000 sequences or .avi files can cause the DMP-7000 software to run slower on certain animations. Refer to this article for details on running the V7ChkRif program.
- Run Disk defragmentation on a monthly basis. For computers that have large amounts of content being created, played or deleted often, it’s recommended to defragment on a weekly basis. Defragmenting should never be done during an event when files are being played out using the software. Some newer Daktronics systems use solid state drives (SSD) in which case it is not recommended to defragment.
- For virus and malware recommendations, see Keep your control system secure.
- Locate and delete old files that are no longer needed.
- Back up your content and settings. For directions, see:
