Over this last week, I talked with one of our sales managers, Kyle Adams, about his thoughts on the NACDA & Affiliates Convention Week and his history with the show.

What are you looking forward toAdams_Kyle_00666 the most at NACDA this year?

Looking forward to seeing all of College Athletic Administrators back in the same place once again. It really is a tremendous opportunity for us to network with the leaders in this industry. As a Scoreboard/Videoboard supplier, we need to make sure we meet and build relationships with as many Athletic Staff member we can at any level of college Sports.

When did you first attend NACDA and where was it held?

My first and the next 8 years or so were held in Marco Island, Florida. As time went by, the convention grew bigger than what Marco hotels could handle, so that’s when they started moving from city to city and having much bigger facilities to handle the growing numbers.

Why do you like going back to NACDA each year, what are the main benefits you get from going to the show?

We need to stay in front of our customers and continue to build relationships. We need to show our support to the organization and make sure our customers continue to see us as the leader. Networking is key to our success at NACDA. We need to meet and greet as many people as we can, no matter what their position within athletics.

What’s your most memorable NACDA moment and why?

There is no question it’s our first NACDA “Dak” Event in Orlando. We invited anyone who was willing to come who registered for the convention and bussed them over to the Citrus Bowl from the Marriott. We had our displays showcased, we had activities on the field, and many other special events that evening. It was a huge hit and people still talk about that event today!!
