Sign Companies and Social Media: How to Build Your Following

Social media has become one of the most popular means of communication and advertising. Posting to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, or other platforms is an easy way to boost lead generation and drive more traffic to your website. In this digital age, having a strong online presence is crucial to success as a business – but if you are late to the game, don’t worry! There’s always time to create an account and build your following. (Skip to the end of this post for tips on getting started.)
Posting to social media tells your audience what your company is all about. For example, Daktronics loves showcasing our partners and the work we do with them! If you’re looking to grow your following and reputation in the industry, here are three easy ways to get more engagement:
1. Send us pictures and videos to tag you in
If you have photos or footage of your Daktronics LED and LCD displays, we would love to give you a shout out on our socials! Submit your pictures online or send them to your salesperson, and our marketing team will take care of showing off your display.
From there, we will tag you to send our followers to your profile! Or, share the post to show it off to your followers and add your own caption. Both options would boost engagement by reaching more people.
2. Tag us in your posts
To share your own posts with our followers, upload some photos with a catchy caption and tag us. This way, we will get a notification and can share your post to our account! Just like in the first method, sharing to multiple audiences means more eyeballs on your content.
3. Use Hashtags
Want your photos to show up with a collection of similar posts? Hashtags are an easy way to get your content to show in search results or on the feeds of accounts with similar interests. Here are a couple tags the LED industry uses:

If your company doesn’t currently have any social accounts – or you don’t use them much – it’s never too late to get started!
The easiest way to build a social media presence is to start on one platform. Consider making a calendar and planning out a couple posts for the month (one per week is a good place to begin). Then as you find a groove with that platform, you can begin repurposing your content and posting to multiple platforms to expand your reach.
Not sure what to post? Focus on answering your audience’s questions and providing content they want to see. Here are a couple ideas:
- Show off your latest project
- Highlight the services you offer
- Tell your company story
- Introduce your amazing team members
- Share a quote from a happy customer
- Promote deals you are running
