The Paris Expo Porte de Versailles hosts more than 6 million visitors and 200 events every year. The facility was built in 1923 to host the Paris Trade Fair. It still hosts some of the biggest events in France each year, including the International Boat Show, International Automobile Show, and the International Agricultural Show.
It’s been kept up to date, but the modernization project that started in 2015 took things up a few notches. The project was led by five world-renowned architects involved, including two Pritzker Prize winners. The 10-year project, set to wrap up in 2024, is being completed without closing the site.
At its completion, the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles will include seven pavilions, the largest conference center in Europe, a 450-room hotel complex, a Michelin-ranked restaurant, and the iconic mixed-use building called Triangle. Viparis will operate the completed project.
Renowned architect Jean Nouvel is in charge of the project. His general contractor Leon Grosse, along with consultant Eric Mangeon, worked closely with Daktronics. Here are some of the highlights of the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles project update.
