It’s that time of year when baseball production crews begin gearing up for the upcoming season. Last week, 29 representatives from 22 professional baseball organizations gathered on the Daktronics campus in Brookings, South Dakota for the Baseball User Group conference.

Guests to the conference were given a tour of the Daktronics manufacturing areas and reliability lab.

Attendees participated in interactive presentations with Daktronics engineers, toured manufacturing and product testing areas, and shared presentations pertaining to their individual productions.

The conference also allowed time for Major League users to hear about new technology being implemented by the league and how Daktronics will incorporate this new data, allowing teams to display more advanced statistics. “It was valuable to hear both how Daktronics is preparing for this switch, but also from other teams and their approach to the newly available statistics,” said Matt Romito, Wrigley Field Video Board Operations Manager. “Almost as important was the opportunity to chat with the other organizations and learn how they plan to implement the new content on their displays.”

Representatives from Minor League and Independent organizations attended demonstrations of products that provide baseball stats, and all users were given the opportunity to work one-on-one with an engineer or trainer to expand their knowledge of Daktronics systems.

Attendees included representatives from 11 MLB, 9 MiLB, and 3 Independent baseball organizations.
