Steps

  • MLB is using Statcast for Speed of Pitch data.  This feed will also expose additional data fields that can enhance the overall production for MLB games.  Statcast Speed of Pitch Interface is included in all MLB bundles.  The integration tools and process will vary depending on the system. 

Here is what to expect :

Statcast Interface includes:

  • Data Server
  • Custom Configuration files
  • Re-wiring of Radar Gun inputs for back-up and non-MLB events (such as HS baseball, exhibition games, etc.)
    • From All Sport to Data Server
  • On-site Technician for finalization, re-wiring and testing

Requirements of Team/Facility:

  • MLBAM provided Username/Password for Statcast
    • This should be requested at least 1 week and completed 2 business day prior to expected installation date
  • Whitelisting of Data Server Computer public IP address by MLBAM
    • This should be requested at least 1 week and completed 2 business day prior to expected installation date
  • Data Server will need web access to connect to Statcast server
  • Some small changes will need to be made to existing RTD Fields in Content Studio as some data items will have new locations in the feed, Specifically Pitch Type
  • Radar Gun and installation for back-up purposes.
