- Follow the Quick Guide: USB to Ethernet adapter Quick Guide, DD1790707 . This guide will provide installation instructions for the D-Link adapter as well as system requirements.
- Note when using an ethernet adapter to communicate to Daktronics display we should be using the "Daktronics Default" IP scheme.
- For help finding your Display's IP address please follow: Venus 1500: How do I determine what IP address to use for display configuration
- The below example is a hypothetical situation, and the static IP address you assign to your USB adapter should be specific to the IP address your display is assigned.
- Setups with a USB to Ethernet adapter should be setup as follows:
- Example:

- IP: 192.168.1.10
- SM: 255.255.255.0
- GW: 192.168.1.1
- USB Adapter:
- IP: 192.168.1.9
- SM: 255.255.255.0
- Display:
- The above hypothetical example would allow the device connected to the USB Adapter to communicate to the display on the same network, while avoiding a IP conflict.
- Devices communicating on the same network cannot have the same IP address, or it will cause a IP conflict if the devices have the same IP address

Configuration with CD
- Make sure D-Link is not plugged into the computer.
- Insert disc into CD-ROM.

The CD should run automatically. If it does not, navigate to the CD-ROM drive and double-click the CDStart.exe file.
- Click the image of the device you are installing.
- Click Install D-Link DUB-E100 Drivers.
- Click Next when the InstallShield Wizard opens.
- Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
- Click Install.
- Plug the Ethernet adapter in an open USB port on the control computer when prompted and click OK.
- When the driver successfully installs the D-Link adapter it should show up as D-Link USB2.0 Ethernet Adapter under "Network adapters" in Device Manager.
Configuration without CD using Daktronics FTP site for obtaining the Daktronics D-Link driver:
- Make sure D-Link is not plugged into the computer.
- Go to https://dakfiles.daktronics.com/ and download drivers.
- Navigate through the following directories: Click on venus1500 -> utils -> USBEthernet -> Driver -> Install.html.
- Click the image of the device you are installing.
- Click Install D-Link DUB-E100 Drivers.
- Click Next when the InstallShield Wizard opens.
- Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
- Click Install.
- Plug the Ethernet adapter in an open USB port on the control computer when prompted and click OK.
- When the driver successfully installs the D-Link adapter it should show up as D-Link USB2.0 Ethernet Adapter under "Network adapters" in Device Manager.
- If unable to install drivers, restart computer and try to install drivers again for D-Link adapter.
