Giants Town Stadium Opening with Daktronics Video Display

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Feb. 10, 2025 – Daktronics was selected to manufacture and install a video display for the new farm ballpark “Giants Town Stadium” in Yanokuchi, Inagi City, which will be the core facility of “Tokyo Giants Town” which is currently under development in an area adjacent to the Yomiuri Land Amusement Park in Inagi City, Tokyo, by the Yomiuri Shimbun Tokyo head office, the Yomiuri Giants baseball team and Yomiuri Land. The opening date is set for Saturday, Mar. 1, 2025. With the opening of the new stadium, Tokyo Giants Town will officially open its doors to the public.

Video Display Details

The large screen is a full video display measuring 6.7 meters high by 18 meters wide and featuring 10-millimeter pixel spacing to deliver excellent image clarity and contrast to fans throughout the stadium. It is capable of variable content zoning allowing it to show all the game-day information expected at live events.

Additionally, two auxiliary displays will be installed. One measuring 1.28 meters high by 2.24 meters wide and the other measuring 1.92 meters high by 2.24 meters wide. These will show supplemental game information to support the main display and expand the visual experience for fans at the stadium.

Included with the installation, a Daktronics Show Control system and a custom control solution will power the displays to allow for a seamless game-day presentation.

Giants Town Stadium Details

Giants Town Stadium is a 15-minute walk from Keio Yomiuri Land Station. It is a three-story artificial turf stadium with a middle field of 122 meters and two wings of 100 meters, the same distance as the Tokyo Dome, and has a sub-field. There will be a total of approximately 2,900 seats, including “excite seats” that extend out onto the ground on the first- and third-base sides on the first floor, and natural grass seats in the outfield.

The stands on the second and third floors will have four rows of seats to bring the spectators closer to the field, and like the “Tamagawa Ground” in Ota Ward, Tokyo, which was the Giants' exclusive stadium from 1955 to 1998, the aim is to create a place where fans and players can interact easily.
