University of South Florida Upgrades Baseball, Softball Stadiums with Daktronics Displays
BROOKINGS, S.D. – Apr. 16, 2020 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with the University of South Florida (USF) to upgrade their baseball and softball stadiums with new LED video displays. USF Softball Stadium's display was installed early in 2019 and Red McEwen Field at USF Baseball Stadium's new display was recently installed late in 2019.
"The Daktronics team was great to work with during our installations!" said Jim Fee, associate athletic director for USF Athletics. "Our baseball and softball facilities tend to stay busy with team and camp activities, so carefully managing the install schedule while also conducting stadium activities was a necessity to ensure the safety of all involved. Of course, our accelerated install timeline also added to the challenge. Now that our fans are able to enjoy these boards, we've had great feedback and have been very pleased with the enhancements to their game-day experiences!"
Both new LED video displays feature 15HD pixel layouts. For baseball, the display measures 23 feet high by 48 feet wide. For softball, the display measures 13 feet high by 25 feet wide. Both feature industry-leading environmental protection and provide excellent image clarity and contrast with wide-angle visibility to appeal to every seat in the stadiums.
Both displays are capable of variable content zoning allowing each to show one large image or to show any combination of live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics, graphics and animations, and sponsorship messages.
"We are proud to have been selected once again to partner with the Bulls to refresh their baseball and softball video systems," said Mike Kempany, Daktronics sales representative. "With close proximity to Lee Roy Selmon Athletics Center, these systems are in the heart of it all and are highly visible for fans and passersby. We thank USF for trusting Daktronics to uphold their brand and experience. Bulls Unite!"
In addition to the equipment installation, USF will also receive a content package that will be produced and delivered by Daktronics Creative Services.
