Coral Cliff Gaming & Entertainment Light Up New Venue With Daktronics Displays

Nine new LED video displays add to Jamaica travel destination

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Nov. 21, 2018 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, has partnered with Coral Cliff Gaming & Entertainment, in conjunction with BDR Design Group, to bring nine LED video displays to their family-friendly travel destination in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Under new ownership, Coral Cliff is ready to welcome guests to their nightlife experience offering live music, gaming and a family fun area for all ages.

Inside the entertainment space, new LED displays are abundant bringing vivid imagery to viewers while also creating an enticing atmosphere that begins when visitors walk in the door. A welcome display measuring 2.7 meters high by 1.6 meters wide greets visitors and sets the tone for the new and improved Coral Cliff. This display provides branding for the venue and shares information for upcoming events and specials.

Further into the casino, a wall display and a display behind the bar area take advantage of static wall space to provide additional entertainment opportunities for guests. These can show branding information and specials such as giveaways or hot bets in the casino. These two displays, as well as the welcome display, feature tight 2.5-millimeter line spacings for crisp imagery at up-close viewing distances.

Initially, the project called for LCD technology before deciding on LED displays for specific spaces. The LED technology offers Coral Cliff a bezel-free appearance and are customized to fill the wall space provided by the architecture of the venue.

Behind the stage in the restaurant area, a display measuring 2.5 meters high by 4.5 meters wide provides the opportunity to show live television and sporting events to draw customers in and entertain them. This display will also help create an enticing atmosphere for live music. 

On the ceiling throughout the casino area, three displays, each measuring 4 meters long by 1.5 meters wide give patrons a subtle effect of the Caribbean clouds and sunsets. Daktronics Creative Services team has worked with Coral Cliff to provide a digital content package to show day-to-night sky views including birds and stars moving across all three displays.

The stage and ceiling displays all feature 3.9-millimeter line spacing for excellent image clarity and contrast.

Outside of the building, two LED marquee displays each measure 9.14 meters high by 6.22 meters wide featuring 16-millimeter line spacing. Positioned back to back, these displays bring the Coral Cliff entertainment environment to the sidewalk by sharing upcoming events and information about entertainment the facility provides.

To control all nine displays, Daktronics installed a custom control solution for a user-friendly production experience. Daktronics Venus control solution schedules and sends content to the entire network of displays while Daktronics Show Control System runs the display behind the stage, giving it extra capabilities for the live events aspect.
