Dakota Valley High School Gym Hosts One of the First 6-Millimeter Daktronics Displays in South Dakota High Schools

BROOKINGS, S.D. – Dec. 12, 2016 – Daktronics (NASDAQ-DAKT) of Brookings, South Dakota, announces the installation of one of the first digital displays featuring 6-millimeter line spacing installed in a South Dakota high school. Dakota Valley, located in North Sioux City, features the video display and scoreboards in their new gymnasium. Installation is complete and ready for an active basketball season.

Bill Clements, Activities Director of Dakota Valley High School, commented how "easy the displays are to use. They give our facilities a professional touch while keeping our fans actively engaged in the game."

The video display measures 9 feet high by 16 feet wide, is surrounded with non-backlit sponsor panels and is topped with a fixed-digit basketball scoreboard measuring 2 feet high by 10 feet wide to continuously provide the vital statistics fans expect. The overall display comes in at 12 feet high by 26 feet wide. Fans enjoy crisp, clear imagery from live video, instant replays, up-to-the-minute statistics and graphical elements, boosting school spirit and crowd participation.

"We were privileged to work with Dakota Valley," said Don Hansen, Daktronics sales representative. "The system combines the advantages of fixed digit displays with the flexibility to present a variety of in-game information, such as playing presentations and recorded content for games and school assemblies."

The new facility showcases three auxiliary fixed-digit basketball scoreboards placed in front of scorer tables. Two additional scoreboards measuring 4 feet high by 10 feet wide are located at each end of the gymnasium to add greater visibility for fans in any seat.
