The Quick Data widget allows users to define groups/tabs of data that can be quickly edited via Display Studio. This feature could be used to enter and publish answers to quiz games, attendance numbers, anthem singer details, etc. This works with Data Studio to provide data. Show Control, VCS, and Data Studio are required for this functionality.
Steps
Quick data needs to be enabled for Display Studio and permissions need to be applied in Venus.

Verify the Venus server with Display Studio Quick Data
- Open Display Studio.
- Verify that you are connected to the right environment with a user in that environment in the customer account.
If it is not correct:
- Logout and log back in to Venus Control Suite. Restart Display Studio if necessary.
- After configuring and populating Quick Data in Display Studio, you should be able to see the data in Data Studio in the cloud environment:
Configure the Display Studio widget.
Locate and expand the Quick Data widget from the bottom toolbar in Display studio.
Pin the Widget ( version 3.1.0.33 or later)
Click the pin button on any dashboard widget to keep the widget visible when using Display Studio. If you close and reopen the workspace in the same desktop, the pins should keep their state.
Create a group or tab for your data.
Click on the menu button in the widget's top right corner.
- Click on the ➕ to create a new tab. By default, it will be called Data Group.
- To rename, click on the edit button to rename.
Add Data Fields.
- Click on Add to add data fields.
- Click on in the first column to add a title.
- Select and click on the second column to add the data.

Click Publish to save changes.
Create a template for the data in Content Studio.
Open Content Studio. Launch via the pencil icon in Display Studio.
- Open an existing or create a new presentation.
- In the Dynamic Data Library, locate the Display Studio Quick Data Category.
- Expand the Data Groups to located the desired group and data fields. (If they are not immediately available, refresh the library.)
- Add the data elements to the presentation. Be sure to leave room for the potential data that will be displayed in that field.
- Save the message.
- Create a button in Display Studio to play out the message.
- Edit the data fields via the Quick Data widget and publish.
