DMP-8000: How do I configure audio settings for player outputs?
Topic
- How do I configure the available audio settings for a DMP-8000 output and what settings are available to configure?
Environment
- Product: DMP-8000 v8.18+
- Components: Audio
- Control System: Show Control or Front End Video Systems
Steps
- Navigate to the player's Web UI by entering in the IP Address or if on the local machine, use localhost or 127.0.0.1 in the address bar
- Click the Wrench Icon to open configuration settings. Under the configuration section, find the output you wish to configure
- The Audio Settings for the selected output are located at the bottom of the output configuration section
- Currently available audio settings:
- Device: Provides a list of available audio output devices to select from Default Audio (the computer the player software lives on) to Break Out Panel Audio
- Channels: Used to configure the number of audio channels to use on the audio output device. The selected device determines the number of channels available or if this option is unavailable
- Delay/Stream Offset: Can be used to adjust how the audio and video stream line up with each other so they can be sync'd up under different environmental scenarios. The Delay value delays the start of the audio stream relative to the video stream, and the Stream Offset value delays the start of the video stream relative to the start of the audio stream. For DMP-8000 versions below 8.18, use the following KB for these settings - How to enable Audio/Video offset control on a DMP 8000
- Mute Fade Duration: Controls how long before the end of a clip that the audio should begin to fade out and go from full volume to muted by the end of the clip.
- Force Mono: Will force the audio stream to output in Mono regardless of the type of audio stream being used.
- Clip Normalization: Will normalize the volume levels of any clip played on that output. It will attempt to make adjustments to any audio level extremes (both soft and loud) that may be present in a clip
