Venus Content Transitions: How do I set individual transitions for my content in Venus Control Suite?

  • How do I set individual transitions for my content in Venus Control Suite (VCS)?

Environment

  • Product: Venus Select, Venus Professional, Venus Enterprise
  • Components: Content Transitions
  • Control System: Venus Cloud-Based, Venus Local, DMP-5000/8000 ver 8.5 or later
Note: This works with DMP-8000 version 8.5.0 or later.  Verify your device is compatible by going to Displays > Devices in Venus Control suite.

Steps

Enable Transitions:

  1. Log into Venus Control Suite.  See: Venus Control Suite: How do I log in?
  2. Choose Displays.
  3. Click on an existing display to Edit or Add New.
  4. Select Transitions.
  5. Choose Yes to allow transitions. This will allow default transitions at a display level and eventually playlist level.

Note, there is a visual indicator on the playlists that show if transitions are turned on or off.  If multiple displays are configured for the playlist with some turned on or off, this will default to on.

  1. Log into Venus Control Suite.
  2. Click on Playlists in the apps menu.
  3. Click on the playlist to be edited.
  4. Click on a Media Item to open the properties. 
Choose the transition and speed from the options.  (This will be available if your Venus account includes transitions.)2022-09-26_15-51-24.jpg
  1. Pick a transition from the drop down. See: What are the default transitions for my display in Venus Control Suite?
  2. Choose a transition speed. There are 3 options: 
    1. Slow = 0.6 seconds
    2. Medium = 0.4 seconds
    3. Fast = 0.2 seconds 
  3. Click Save.
