Steps

The steps outlined, if performed incorrectly, may result in equipment failure. Do not attempt these steps without proper training and understanding of product operation. Consult a Daktronics support technician if you need assistance.

Ensure that all connections in the display are seated properly & all connections are complete.
If you have System Health, leverage it to ensure the module map is clear and no issues are present on the display.
Bootload using the currently installed package.
  1. Login to the VP-6000. Refer to 6000 Processor: How do I log into the user interface?

  1. On the Update page, select Display. (This can sometimes take a few moments to populate the page depending on hardware.)
  2. Select Automatic
    • If Manual is required, contact Daktronics Technical Support
  3. The default option of "All Display Outputs" remains unless directed to do otherwise by Daktronics personnel.  If directed, pick the outputs that you would like to update.  Each output is a PK2 card on the DI or VP, and all will need to be updated in most situations.bootloading1.png

  4. Click Bootload from Installed Package or click Upload Package and Bootload and pick the display firmware package. (DEB file).

  6. Progress details will state Bootload Complete once the action is done.
    • If there are any red indicators on the bootload, then the update did not fully complete.  Confirm connections to components in the display, and rerun the sequence above.
  7. If the display is a Narrow Pixel Pitch (NPP/NPN) then power down the display before putting in any spares. After spares are in the display then power on the display. After display is fully booted up then run firmware update again to make sure everything onsite is updated.
