Steps
Custom NCAA Football Projects
- Contact Professional Services or your Regional Application Engineer to determine the specific hardware and/or software needs that will enable this data for display use. They will prepare a proposal and create the Data Server package file.

- Based on customer system configuration, Data Server Football may be installed on DSTI or on Venus-P. The DSTI may need to be modified to add the "no stat" option for the All Sport relay.
- Data Server Football may use the same ports as DSTI Football and modifications may be needed to ensure the applications don't both broadcast on the same ports.
New Venus® Control Suite and Data Server Installations (custom and standard)
Venus Control Suite and Data Server need to be installed on the same machine. (64-bit machine) (Use the DSTI Machine or other if instructed)
Obtain the credentials for the new Venus deployment. (Required for Device Updater)
- On the intended VCS machine, download and install the UpdaterClient program from https://dakfiles.daktronics.com/downloads/ Venus/UpdaterClient/Venus-UpdaterClient.exe
- Once installed, right-click on the UpdaterClient icon in the system tray and select Show Device Details.
- Capture the Device ID and License Key.
Deploy the Venus Software
Venus and Data Server are to be installed and updated via the Venus Device Updater.For more resources, see the links below:

Show Control
Requires Display Studio version 2.18 or later. For new installs, a new profile will need to be created for the new DID file. This only has to be done on one Show Control, it will sync to the other machines once created. Details on this process can be found here: Content Studio: How do I configure a custom data profile in the Profile Editor- Download the appropriate .did from Dakfiles/data/did . For StatCrew XML, you will need the following:
- DataServer StatCrew FB Request.did
- DataServer StatCrew FB Scoreboard.did
- Open the Profile Editor and login. From the Start Menu -> All Programs -> Daktronics -> Utilities -> Profile Editor
- Profile: Football: College (StatCrew)
- Under Manage Inputs and DIDs, create a new input
- Name: DataServer StatCrew FB Scoreboard
- Number (DMP-7000): 3 or the appropriate DMP-7000 input number
- Offset (DMP-3000): 0
- DSRC File Name: DataServer StatCrew FB Scoreboard
- Import the .did file.
- Create a new pair by selecting the input and the DataServer StatCrew FB Scoreboard.did.
- Create a DSRC file to be used on the DMP-8000s (if in system) by selecting the DataServer StatCrew FB Scoreboard.did
- Use Input UDP port 21321
- Repeat the above steps for the DataServer StatCrew FB Request input using UDP port 21322.
- Repeat the above steps for DataServer StatCrew FB Combined input using UDP port 21322.
DMP-8000
Update to 8.34.0.105 or newer. Real Time Data will appear shifted in the player window but will look normal on data monitor.- Use Device updater to perform the update. See: Venus Device Updater: Device firmware schedule and deployment with Venus local environment
- For each DMP-8000:
- Add the above did files to C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\DDS\DID folder
- Add the dsrc files to the C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\Vnet4\Data folder
Testing the System
