Display Blank, Third Party content running on primary monitor. Monitors not cloned or duplicated

Potential Symptoms

  • Blank display.
  • Third Party content running on primary monitor, but not outputting to the display.
  • No Content in IDM.
  • Not Receiving video in IDM.

Environment

  • Product: DB-1000, DB-2000, DB-3000, DB-4000, DB-4100, DB-4200

  • Control System: Third Party Player, Scala, Apparatix

Cause

  • Third Party content is running on the primary monitor, and monitors are not cloned or duplicated.

Resolution

  • Clone or Duplicate the primary monitor to the secondary monitor.
    • Windows XP
      • Right click on the desktop, and select Properties.
      • Click on the Settings tab.
      • Verify the primary monitor and the secondary monitor are set to the same screen resolution.
      • Click the Advanced button.
      • Click on the Display Config tab.
      • From the Display Config dropdown, select 'VGA ( clone ) DVI'.
      • Click OK to save the settings.
    • Windows 7
      • Right click on the desktop, and select Screen Resolution.
      • For Multiple Displays select: Duplicate these displays.
      • Click OK to save the settings.
