How to change flash type on beacons for a VSLS sign

  • How do I change the flashing type on beacons.  (Alternating or Synced)

Environment

  • Product Family: Transportation
  • Product: VSLS display type
  • Components: M3 controller
  • Control System: LCD simulator

Steps

  • Use LCD Simulator software to log into the controller.
  • Switch the controller to LOCAL mode.
    1. Select Configuration.
    2. Select Peripheral Configuration.
    3. Select Delete Peripherals, Gen2 Beacon, Confirm.
    4. Select Add Peripherals.
    5. Select Add Beacons.
    6. Select Gen 2.
    7. Select DC I/O 1.
    8. Enter Pin 1.
    9. Select Sync Flash for them to be synced, select Alternate Flash for them to alternate. Note: Alternate is the factory default.
    10. Select No dimming.
  • Cancel to Main Menu.
    1. Select Diagnostics.
    2. Select Test patterns.
    3. Select Auto Test.
  • Take a look at the front of the display to confirm the beacons are flashing. If they are, then blank the test pattern, and cancel to Reset Options, & Select Reset only. This will save your new information.
