Content Studio: How do I configure custom content that shows Balls, Strikes, Outs via sport media RTD

  • How do you create MediaRTD Balls, Strikes, and Outs in Content Studio?
  • I want to use traffic lights or some other graphic as my Ball, Strike, and Out indicators instead of 1, 2 and 3.
  • Media RTD displays images instead of alphanumerical real time data.

Steps

Saving media

DMP-8000 Supported File Types:  VMPL, VMPF, AVI, BMP, JPG, JPEG, PNG, MPG, MPEG, and SWF
  • Images must stored in the MediaRTD folder, located under C:\Program Data\Daktronics\VNET4\Content\MediaRTD

Naming media

  • Images must match the same name as the RTD field it will be linked to.

Import the RTD field into your presentation.

  1. Drag & drop the RTD field into your presentation.
  2. Check the "Is media RTD" checkbox.  
  3. A popup window will open. Browse to the image you wish to associate with the RTD Field.
  4. When you select a file, you are not necessarily selecting the image that will always appear, rather a place holder that will allow you to properly place where you want the Media RTD to appear. The content that appears will depend on the naming of the files and the corresponding data.
RTD fields to use:
  • Game In Progress: Baseball - Balls, Strikes Outs (Fields from All Sport)
  • Game Stats: DakStats BA - Balls, Strikes, Outs (Fields from DakStats)

The source can be the All Sport, All Sport Pro or DakStats Baseball. 

Considerations

  • Typically, brightly colored dots or baseballs are used as the indicators for Balls, Strikes and Outs on top of solid-colored backgrounds. Often times, place holders for the upcoming Balls, Strikes, and Outs will be slightly grayed out or darkened to indicate where they will go.

  • The number of Balls/Strikes/Outs will update automatically as the numbers are entered into the All Sport or into DakStats.
