TriCaster 850 TW not working, disabled from device manager

Potential Symptoms

  • Time Warp 850 isn't working (i.e. T-bar doesn't switch between program and preview, no buttons working, jog wheel unresponsive.
  • Time Warp not lighting up.
  • Time Warp communicates via serial/rs-232 communication to TriCaster.

Environment

  • NewTek TriCaster
    • 460, TC8000, TC-1
  • Time Warp 850 (TW 850): VID_0403&PID_600

Cause

  • Device is disabled.

Resolution

  1. Exit to Admin mode and to the Windows desktop.
  2. Open up device manager.
  3. In Universal Serial Bus controllers, find the device labeled USB Serial Converter.
  4. Right-click and enable.
