FTFU, communication error; Display powered up prior to connection to network

Potential Symptoms

  • No communication to display after it is plugged into the network, first time fire up (FTFU).
  • Venus Control Suite (VCS) dashboard shows a communication error for the display.
  • Both DMP and VIP are showing "0 of 1 online."
  • Display is blank with a heartbeat in the bottom right corner.

Cause

  • Display was plugged into the network while powered on and the network was not able to properly assign an IP address to the display.

Resolution

  • Cycle power to the display while it is plugged into the network and the network will dynamically assign the display an IP address.
