Display: Blank, low memory error window, third party player

Potential Symptoms

  • Display is blank with a heartbeat, but able to run test patterns from VLink or VIP.
  • Display may be showing a browser window on the sign with a Microsoft Windows error screen.
    • May be viewed via webcam.
  • When logging into computer there is a "Microsoft Windows" error window open that states "Your computer is low on memory" but when viewing task manager there is free memory available.

  • When logged into the computer, there are numerous "blue cloud" icons for the FusionClientModule showing in the task bar.
  • Windows event viewer shows several "Warning" level events that state "Windows successfully diagnosed a low virtual memory condition."
  • "No Content" events on VIP in IDM.
  • Error popup on DMP desktop "The Message Queuing service (MSMQ) is not available"
  • Application error in Event Viewer: System.OutOfMemoryException

Cause

  • Unknown.
    • Possible player memory leak.
    • Possible player memory usage spikes.

Resolution

  1. Click ok to close the windows error and verify player restarts.
  2. Enable paging file in system settings.
    1. Go to control panel.
    2. Click system.
    3. Go to advanced system settings.
    4. In the window that opens click on the "Advanced" tab.
    5. Under "Performance" click the Settings button.
    6. In the window that opens click on the "Advanced" tab.
    7. Under "Virtual memory" click the Change button.
    8. In the window that opens click the radio button next to "Custom Size:" and set an initial size of 500 and maximum of 1000 by pressing the "set" button.
    9. Click OK out of the windows that are open to return to your desktop.
