"Windows is searching for Venus1500.exe" error when opening software, Exe file missing

Potential Symptoms

  • "Windows is searching for Venus1500.exe. To locate the file yourself, click Browse." error when opening Venus.
  • Shortcuts may or may not still be in place.
  • Exe file is missing from C:\ > Program Files (x86) > Daktronics > Venus 1500 V4 folder.

Environment

  • Venus 1500 V4

Cause

  • Avast! is deleting the .exe file out of the Venus 1500 V4 folder.

Resolution

  • You will need to contact the Vendor Avast! at www.avast.com for support on unblocking programs blocked by their program.
    • Avast! is a free Antivirus/Malware program. This program is not owned, distributed or supported by Daktronics. If this program is blocking Daktronics programs, such as Venus 1500, this is not supported by Daktronics Software support.

Work Around

  1. Disable Avast!
  2. Run a repair on Venus 1500 V4.
