The Brightness Limiter in the VIP 5060 is a way to regulate the brightness of the display between select times. This is NOT Scheduled dimming. This is a option that will limit all the dimming modes (manual, auto, remote) of the VIP during selected time.

  1. Log into the VIP-5060 that needs this setup.
    • Verify that VIP firmware is 2014.9.26b1008 or newer, if not this option will not be present.
    • If still showing old "Content" section after updating to 2014.9.26b1008 or newer, trying clearing Silverlight, IE, and Java files.
  2. Once logged into the VIP select the "Configuration" tab, and then the "Brightness" section.
  3. Select the "Day and Night Brightness Limits" option.
    • If unable to select "Day and Night Brightness Limits," click the left side location section, complete the location Configuration, and then send configuration.
    • Time zone and time may also need to be synchronized.
The following options will be dependent on the customer needs.

It can be set to negative or positive time if you want it to reach the levels set before sunrise or a set time of day. Negative means it will reach the level prior to the selected time and positive will start after the selected time.
  • Day Transition Duration - This is the amount of time that the VIP will start the brightening before getting to the minimum day brightness level.
  • Night Minimum Brightness - This the lowest brightness that will be allowed during the night time hours.
