Display has slow or intermittent Ethernet communication, Multiplier is set to 1
Potential Symptoms
- Communication to display is very slow.
- May see the following error: Send file maker error file ..... to large.
- Unable to get schedule to display.
- May also be slow enough to prevent Venus 1500 from making a connection if through a network.
- Animations or video content may not successfully publish.
- Venus may freeze up trying to publish files to sign.
- Unable to send animations or still images to the display using the M3 File Manager widget.
Environment
- Product: AF-3200, AF-3220, AF-3500, AF-3550, Electronic Message Center (EMC) or Board (EMB), Marquee, Readerboard, Display
- Component: Ethernet Communication
- Control System: Venus 1500 v3 or v4
Cause
- Multiplier setting is at 1. It should be set for 128 when communication is Ethernet.
Resolution
- Adjust Multiplier from 1 to 128 by following: How to configure the standard settings for Commercial Galaxy Displays in M2Config, DD2755717.
- Note: May need to update firmware. It is important to verify what display/controller is being updated.
