Ethernet based communication using MAC address filtering, no communication after change of display controller
Potential Symptoms
- No communication through the network and communication equipment after replacement of display controller even though the IP address information is set up appropriately on the controller.
- There is no MAC address associated with the IP address of the sign at the router.
- Ethernet based communication, no communication after change of display controller
Environment

- Ethernet based communication, equipment connected to customer's network
- MAC Address Filtering
Cause
- Site is using MAC address filtering so with the new controller having a different MAC address it is unable to communicate through the router.
Resolution
- Obtain new MAC address from the product sticker on the new controller or from M2Config and provide this information to customer's network administrator or IT technician that controls the router so they may program it to detect the sign on their network.
