Remote Troubleshooting Steps
Able to access the webcam web server interface:
- Unable to view billboard through the webcam: Black or fuzzy image when viewing newly installed Mobotix camera, DD2582442.
Unable to access webcam web server interface:
- Run the MxControlCenter program on the on-site computer.
- Programs > MOBOTIX > MxControlCenter
- If the program is not downloaded on the on-site computer: Where can I download Mobotix Software? DD2257049.
- Click Automatic Search to detect any webcam on the network.
- Webcam detected: Navigate to the IP address listed under the IP Address/Path column using an internet browser.
- Webcam not detected: Send service and proceed with On-site troubleshooting steps listed below with a tech on-site.
On-site Troubleshooting Steps
- Check for power/lights on the POE injector.
- Sites changed from a Mobotix M22 webcam to a M24 webcam might use a POE Ethernet switch instead of a POE injector.
- Verify every connection is secure going from the POE injector to the webcam.
- Measure input and output power inside of the surge card: How to check voltage inside a surge card for a Mobotix M24 webcam, DD2479344.
- Verify the webcam is functional.
- Look at the webcam face. Are there any LED's on?
- Green and Orange LED's on solid is saying the webcam is powered on as normal.
- If LED's are not lighting up, proceed on to next step.
- Disconnect the output power and signal cable going to the webcam from the surge protector.
- Disconnect the webcam from webcam arm.
- Take the webcam to the POE injector and plug the power/signal cable into the POE injector.
- Able to detect webcam: Issue with signal in between webcam and POE injector.
- Unable to detect the webcam: Replace webcam: Cannot connect to a Mobotix M24 webcam; DD2638465.
- Look at the webcam face. Are there any LED's on?
