Venus 1500 closing with an error when attempting publish; Corrupt NucleusServer.exe.config

Potential Symptoms

  • Venus 1500 is crashing when attempting to publish to or removing a playlist from the display.
    • Error messsage:  Venus 1500 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
  • Receiving the following error in Venus1500.Log and Nucleus.Log.
    • Error Message: You cannot update data that you don't have locked.

Cause

  • NucleusServer.exe.config is corrupted.

Resolution

  1. Locate the NucleusServer.exe.config in C:\Program Files\Daktronics\Nucleus Server or C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\Nucleus Server.
  2. Delete the Config file.
  3. Run a repair on Venus 1500.
  4. Restart services.
  5. Publish content.
