Receiving "The setup must update files or services that cannot be updated while the system is running".
Potential Symptoms
- When opening any messages to edit in Content Studio or when launching Content Studio, get following pop up message:
"The setup must update files or services that cannot be updated while the system is running. If you choose to continue, a reboot will be required to complete the setup". - Same error shows up when trying to uninstall Daktronics Data Server.
- If one presses okay the computer will reboot, cycle repeats itself.
- In Content Studio Log (may be unrelated), have following error:

Cause
- Corruption of some .dll files or some component of Content Studio.
Resolution
- If the Venus 1500 software is not at the latest version, update the software following; How do I update or download Venus 1500 V4 software?, DD1993540.
- If the software is at the latest version, run a repair following How do I run a repair on installed software such as Venus 1500, Vanguard or Show Control? DD2387771.
