Resolution
V7000 Calibration is used to adjust intensity or brightness of individual module(s).
- Verify the system is in Venus Mode if a V-Link® is present. For more see: What are the Modes of Operation for VIP-4400 (Previously known as V-Link)
- On the Venus® 7000 computer, navigate to Start -> Programs -> Venus® 7000 -> Venus® 7000 Tools -> Venus® 7000 Calibration Ex.
- In the Venus® 7000 Calibration application, click on the ellipsis "..." (3 dots) beside the "Sign:" dialog box.
- Select the sign that will be calibrated (ensure you are using the host display if windows are being used) and click OK.
- Select the correct face to calibrate by clicking the drop-down arrow next to Face and selecting the appropriate side.
- Note: The face letter corresponds to the face address of the display. For example, a single-sided display only has Face A. A four-sided, center hung display has Faces A, B, C, and D.
- Note: The face letter corresponds to the face address of the display. For example, a single-sided display only has Face A. A four-sided, center hung display has Faces A, B, C, and D.
- Under the "Load Calibration File" window, click on the drop down arrow next to the Calibration File dialog box.
- At this point, either a "New" file or "Open" an existing file needs to be chosen. In this example, "Open" an existing file will be chosen for demonstration purposes.
- If "New" file is selected, a new calibration file will be created and stored in the C:\V7000 folder.
- Note: If this is the first time the calibration program has been run, an existing file will not be available for selection.
- Note: If opening an existing calibration file, the display name must be part of the file name. (i.e. 192X176PROSTAR_12.ca7)
- Select the most recent calibration file.
- Note: If multiple files are present, the most recent file will be the one with the latest date and highest "R" number.
- Select "OK" to get back to the main calibration window.
- On the Menu bar, navigate to "File" -> "Configure"
- On the Configure window, there are two options: Free Area or Module Based.
- Free Area is not limited by module boundaries.
- Module Based is limited by the module parameters selected.
- Next, select the appropriate module size for the display.
- Note: Modules can also be calibrated in groups, if desired.
- Choose OK to navigate back to the home screen.
- Verify a crosshair has now appeared in the top left corner of the display.
- Use the arrow keys on the Venus® 7000 keyboard to move the crosshair to the area needing calibration.
- Under the Full Sign drop down box, choose the color that needs to be adjusted. Green will be used in this example for demonstration purposes.
- Then use the slider bars to the right to adjust the level desired.
- Note: It is recommended a 5 to 10 offset value be used during this calibration process and adjust as necessary.
- Next, click the Send button.
- By pressing the arrow keys on the keyboard, move the cursor off of the area being calibrated to visually check the display for color uniformity.
- Continue steps 16 through 19 until the modules match the intensity of the surrounding modules.
- Using Step 17, verify each color: Red, Green, Blue, and White, are all uniform before continuing.
- Once satisfied with the color correction values, choose File from the Menu Bar and click Save and then click Set As Active File and click Yes to confirm the file will be the active calibration file.
