How do I connect to a DD-4030 through a V-Link 1500 (VMAX) to issue commands?

Environment

  • V-Link 1500 (VMAX output)
  • DD-4030
  • Software Required: (One of the following)
    • HyperTerminal
    • HyperAccess
    • Tera Term

Resolution

  1. Open one of the software applications listed above.
  2. Ensure the method type of the connection is TCP/IP.
  3. Populate IP Address of the V-Link 1500.
  4. When asked for a port provide the number 3002 - port 3004 may be used for the second V-Link on a back to back display.
  5. DD - This should return an "M3>" prompt.
  6. ds y - This should return a "0 0 0>" prompt
    Note:  If you are prompted with something similar to d*s*y* the path to the DD is broken and you will not be able to complete the command.
