Potential Symptoms
How to setup and configure a Mini VxPort and a list of commands.
Environment
- Product: VIP-4500, VLink-4500, DMP-7000
- Components: Mini VxPort
- Control System: DMP-7000
Resolution
The V-Link 4500 processor has a built-in component that allows you to monitor its output on a monitor. This component is known as the Mini VXport converter, and supports the following standards: composite, S-Video, component, HD/SDI, VGA and DVI standards.
Configuring the Mini VXport
For basic operation of the Mini VXport, two pieces of information must be known:
- The size of the screen that the V-Link 4500 is controlling
- The output resolution desired
Once the above are known, configuration is a matter of setting a few commands. These are sent using the VLink Debugger, which is found by going to Start->Programs->Venus 7000->Venus 7000 Tools->V7 VLink Debug.
- Set the video format. This selects the output resolution of the VXport
- EX: vxvf s4
- Will set the output to 1080i @ 60fps
- EX: vxvf s4
- Set the output video size. This sets up how much of the output resolution is filled with video. This is usually set to the resolution that the preview monitor is capable of.
- EX: vxwa 0 0 720 1280
- Will set the output video to start at 0 pixels from the top of the output signal, 0 pixels from the left with a size of 720x1280
- EX: vxwa 0 0 720 1280
- Set incoming video size. This sets what part of the VMAX area is to be previewed. This usually will start at 0,0 and will be the size of the screen being controlled by the V-Link.
- EX: vxva 0 0 720 600 will preview a display that is 720x600 pixels
- If the display is an HD display the width of the vxva setting will need to be 1/2 of the configured sign width
- EX: Display is HD 15 at 720x600 vxva will be vxva 0 0 720 300
- To view what the VXPORT setup configuration is
- vxgc
- Will display the get configuration of the VXPORT, useful for determining if the settings are being accepted.
