Unable to retrieve status of display, incorrect fiber connections

Potential Symptoms

  • Unable to retrieve status with Venus 1500, but may be able to send test patterns or send messages.
  • TX light may stay steady ON on the indoor fiber media converter.
  • Venus 1500 V4 - may show No Response in alerts

Cause

  • Fibers on the fiber serial card at the display are connected incorrectly.
    • Examples of incorrect fiber connections:

Resolution

  • Move the fiber from the outputs (J3, J2) to the inputs (J5, J4) on the fiber card.  See the detail below.
