Sensor hub used to control light sensors for a single split sign

Potential Symptoms

Light intensity of display doesn't change.

Environment

  • 1 VF-2000 Sign (appearance of 2 signs)
  • 2 VFC-3000 Controller's
  • 1 Vanguard VFC Sensor Hub

Cause

  • 2 VFC-3000 controllers running 1 sign. The sign uses 2 controllers to control each half of the sign.
  • There is a PRIMARY and a SECONDARY VFC-3000 controller interconnected using a sensor hub.

Resolution

  1. Verify the peripheral configuration on both the primary and secondary controllers.
  2. The primary controller will have the power supplies, DC I/O board, all light and temp sensors, ctrl comm primary.
  3. Address on Primary controller is set to 1.
  4. The secondary will have power supplies, DC I/O board, ctrl comm secondary.
  5. Address on Secondary controller is set to 2.
  6. The sensor hub allows the left half and the right half of the sign to have equal brightness.
