Galaxy: How do I download & install the M2Config Utility on my computer?

CAUTION: Misuse of this utility can render your display inoperable.

Option 1: Go to the FTP site and download the M2Config utility: The website always has the most current revision on the M2Config utility.

  1. Use your web browser to navigate to https://dakfiles.daktronics.com .
  2. Click Venus 1500 -> utils -> M2_Config -> Setup.exe.  Run the setup either from the website or save the Setup.exe to the computer and run it from the computer.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.  The setup will copy the necessary files to run M2Config and create a shortcut in the start menu.

Option 2: The M2Config utility is available on the Venus 1500 V3 & V4 disc.

  1. Navigate to the utility folder.
  2. Run M2Config installation.
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen.  The setup will copy the necessary files to run M2Config and create a shortcut in the start menu.

Note: M2Config utility installs to the following locations by default.

  • Windows XP - Go to C:\Program Files\Daktronics\M2Config\M2Config.exe
  • Windows Vista - Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\M2Config\M2Config.exe
  • Windows 7 - Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Daktronics\M2Config\M2Config.exe
