Potential Symptoms

Environment

  • Venus 1500 v4
  • Windows XP, Vista 7

Cause

Possibly due to font cache data file corruption or Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 is bad or corrupt.

Resolution

Make sure Venus 1500 is updated to the latest Venus 1500 v4.

If issue is not resolved after update, please try following the Workaround.

Work Around

Step 1: Stop Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 service.

For Windows XP 

  1. Go to Windows Start Menu -> Run -> Type services.msc -> Ok.
    • If run is not an option, right-click on My Computer, choose Manage. Go to Services & Applications -> Services.
  2. Locate the Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 service.
  3. Right-click and choose Stop.
  4. Continue to Step 2.

For Windows Vista or 7
  1. Go to Windows Start Menu.
  2. In the bottom search bar type: Services
    • Services will filter into the Windows Start Menu.
  3. Click on Services with the gears in front.
  4. Locate the Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 service.
  5. Right-click and choose Stop.
  6. Continue to Step 2.

Step 2: Delete the Font Cache file.
  1. Go to the following path.
    • Windows XP: %SystemDrive%\Documents and Settings\Local Service\Local Settings\Application Data
      • Example: C:\Documents and Settings\Local Service\Local Settings\Application Data
    • Windows Vista/7: %WinDir%\Service Profiles\Local Service\App Data\Local
      • Example: C:\Windows\Service Profiles\Local Service\App Data\Local
  2. Delete the FontCache3.0.0.0.dat file.
  3. Go back to services (Step 1) and start the Windows Presentation Foundation Font Cache 3.0.0.0 service.


Step 3: Run a Microsoft .NET Framework repair.
