Display Studio shows DMP-7000 and/or DMP-8000 has/is going to expire

Potential Symptoms

  • When opening Show Control Systems (SCS) Display Studio states DMP-7000 and/or DMP-8000  has or is going to expire.
  • Show Control Display Studio has been registered, but the status indicator shows the DMP-7000 and/or DMP-8000 as expired or about to expire.

Environment

  • Product: SCS Display Studio
  • Component: M3 controlled Message Display
  • Control System: SCL-2000 (This is only for the M3 Plug-in)

Cause

  • The V-net (DMP-8000) and V7000 (DMP-7000) was not deselected during the install of SCS Display Studio.
  • How to confirm registration type after registration is completed:
  1. Launch Show Control Display Studio.
  2. Click the Orange Application Menu -> About.
  3. Next to License:, it will tell you the type of license you have.
    • SCL-2000 should only have the M3 Plug-in Selected.
    • SCS-4000 should only have the DMP-7000 and/or DMP-8000 selected.

Resolution

Reinstall or modify SCS Display Studio:
  1. Close fully out of Display Studio and Content Studio.
  2. Go to Windows Start Menu -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features.
  3. Locate the Daktronics Display Studio software, right-click and choose Change/Modify.
  4. Click Ok to the prompt advising to close out of listed programs.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Select Modify, click Next.
  7. Do Not change Database Server, and click Next.
  8. Click on the down-arrow next to DMP-7000 and/or DMP-8000, select X This feature will not be available.
    • Make sure to leave M3 selected.

  9. Once all proper plug-ins are unselected and/or selected, click Next.
  10. If prompted to Automatically close and attempt to restart the Daktronics Nucleus Server, click Ok.
  11. Click Finish.
