Content and boot sequence don't look correct; Incorrect Controller Configuration

Potential Symptoms

  • Messages are not displaying properly on the display.  One of the following symptoms is occurring:
    • Message board is all garbled.
    • Many pixels on display are blank, every modules has outages.
    • Messages on display cannot be read / illegible.
    • Discoloration on messages.
    • Lines through the display.
    • Display has a few modules intermittently lit on it but most the sign is blank.
    • Start up sequence not going through standard pattern.
      • Boot Sequence is garbled.
      • Boot sequence is not there or blank.
    • Sign will display text messages but does not play animations.

  • Product Family: Message Displays
  • Product: Galaxy, AF-3150, AF-3160, AF-3165, AF-3180, AF-3190, AF-3197, AF-3200, AF-3220, AF-3400, AF-3500, AF-3501, AF-3550, AF-3700, Electronic Message Center (EMC), Marquee, Electronic Message Board (EMB)
  • Component: M2 or M3 Controller configuration, New Controller installation
  • Control System:

Cause

  • Controller configured incorrectly.
    • Incorrect Product Family, Module Type, Module Size, or Color Depth.
    • Incorrect firmware loaded to the controller.

Note: Controllers ship out pre-configured and only need to be installed in display.  If a controller is sent out with the incorrect configuration, report it to Daktronics Customer Service.
