Venus 1500 alert "No Write" when trying to connect to modem

Potential Symptoms

  • When trying to connect to modem display receive an alert "No Write".
  • Computer has recently been reimaged or the database is from a different computer.
  • Unable to publish content to the display but can connect with M2Config. (Venus 1500 v3 will also connect with no issue).

Environment

  • Galaxy
  • AF-3150, AF-3160, AF-3165, AF-3180, AF-3190, AF-3197, AF-3200, AF-3220, AF-3400
  • Electronic Message Center (EMC) or Board (EMB), Marquee, Readerboard, Display
  • M2 Controller based products
  • Modem
  • Venus 1500 V4

Cause

  • Modem Line ID in Nucleus Database does not match current Modem Line ID.

Resolution

  1. If Venus 1500 is lower then 4.19.2, update Venus 1500 to 4.19.2 (Click to download) .
    • Note: Do not update past 4.19.2 as newer versions do not support Modem communication.
  2. Click the orange V in the upper left hand corner of Venus 1500.
  3. Click on Venus 1500 options.
  4. Click modems from the list on the left.
  5. Click the refresh modems button.
  6. Make sure modem is selected.
  7. Try to connect to display.

  • Run a repair on Venus 1500.
