How do I configure a MOXA USB to Serial adapter to a specific COM Port number?

Resolution

  1. Verify the MOXA USB to serial adapter is installed properly.  Follow How to verify that a MOXA USB to serial adapter is installed & working properly?, DD1542967 for instructions.

  2. Click the Windows Start button.
  3. Right click on My Computer (Windows XP) or Computer (Windows 7) and select Manage.
  4. In the left hand pane, click on Device Manager.
  5. In the right pane, expand Multi-port serial adapters.

  6. Double click on UPort 1110.
  7. Select the Ports Configuration tab.
  8. Select the desired Port Number and click Port Setting button.

  9. In the drop down box next to Port Number select the desired COM Port and click OK twice.

Windows 10 Uport1110 has a utility to use to change com port as the Advanced feature is unavailable in Properties for Uport Device.
