Vanguard; Unable to Send Content/Test Patterns to Display After Updating VIP and DMP Firmware; Outdated VCB Firmware

Potential Symptoms

  • Before updating the DMP and VIP firmware to latest, test patterns and content were able to be run on the physical display.
  • After updating the DMP and VIP firmware to latest, test patterns and content are unable to be sent to the physical display.
  • In System Health, Prolink A and Prolink B show "no errors", but Connection to Display is "failed"
  • In Version Info, Module and Display Interface information is listed as "Not Available"

Cause

The VCB firmware is out of date.

Resolution

  1. Update the VCB firmware to latest following VFC Controller: How to update firmware on a VCB.
  2. Verify Module and Display Interface version information now populates.
  3. Verify Connection to Display now shows "no errors".
  4. Verify test patterns and content are able to be sent to the physical display.
