How To Remove/Uninstall the Nucleus Database when there are multiple database instances.

  • Control System: Venus 1500 V4, Display Studio (Show Control, SCS)

Steps

Note: It is recommended that database backups for all software entities utilizing SQL for database be backed up prior to competing the steps below. 
SQL 2005\SQL 2008\2014
  • To uninstall SQL Server Nucleus database for 2005\2008\2014, complete the following steps:
    1. Make sure you have administrative rights on the computer.
    2. Back up customers Nucleus database following: Venus 1500: How do I use the Nucleus Server Database utility to transfer or save a database?
      • This may or may not be possible depending on the issue encountered.
    3. In Programs and Features select the existing Microsoft SQL Server installed instance, 2005, 2008 or 2014

  1. In the SQL Removal Wizard "Select Instance" be sure to select the Nucleus database to be uninstalled. This will be the only instance that is uninstalled.

  2. Click remove
