Venus Scheduling: How do I use an exclusive playlist?

An Exclusive Playlist is one that replaces the scheduled content on any targeted display.

This Feature is not available on Venus Basic. 
In the playlist properties, check the Exclusive box to set the playlist priority above others

Steps

  1. Log into Venus Control Suite Venus Accounts: How do I log in to Venus Control Suite?
  2. Select Scheduling from the My Apps menu.

Playlist properties- exclusive mode

Click on the Playlist information tile and the Playlist Properties will slide-out from the right side. 

From Playlist Properties, adjust the name, dates, ranges and modes for the playlist.

  1. Add a descriptive name to the playlist. 
  2. Select Active or Inactive for the playlist state. 
  3. Select Exclusive.
    • This will enable the content play over any other playlists that are not exclusive.  If more than one playlist has exclusive checked, the playlists will rotate content.
  4. Set the timing.   Exclusive playlists can be recurring. Adjust the date range, days of week and time range to make this happen. 
    1. Pick an Initial Start Date. You may also pick an end date if desired.
    2. Select which days of the week you would like the playlist to run.
    3. Select the time of day you would like the playlist to start and end in the Start Time and End Time fields.
  5. Select the Playlist Mode.  This is something to consider if you have multiple active playlists.  
  6. Add tags to the playlist by entering a title and clicking +.

Select media
  1. Click + in the top corner of the Media Files tile. The Select Media menu will slide-out from the right side. 
  2. Locate the desired media file using the filter options. The media filter can limit results using file title, modified date, account name, association, file type, dimension, and associated tags.
  3. Select the desired media file(s) from the list within the Select Media menu by clicking +. The Media files list will populate with the selected media files. 
    1. Remove a media file from the list by clicking +, or remove all media files by clicking Remove All
  4. Click on the X in the top right corner to close the slide-out.
Select displays
  1. Click + next to Displays to select the displays the new playlist will appear on.
  2. A right side-out should appear that lists your account's displays. 
  3. Select the displays.  A check mark identifies which display(s) you have selected and generates a list under the Displays tile.
  4. Click on the X in the top right corner to close the slide-out.

Saving a playlist

  1. Select either Save or Save As from the drop-down menu. 
    2. If you selected Save As, enter a new title for the Playlist.
