👉 Scheduled look changes are intended DMP/DWP. This will not work with VP's.

  • Product:  Venus Professional, Venus Enterprise
  • Components: Layout Editor
  • Control System: Venus Cloud-Based, Venus Local

Steps

This process requires Layout Editor and Web Editor in Venus Controls Suite.

Layout Editor App

Use the following KB's to get started if you are not familiar with the Layout Editor

Create layouts via the Venus Control Suite Layout Editor
  1. Select Add New to create a new layout.
  2. Name the layout and select the screen size. 
  3. Click on the Looks tab and rename the Look by clicking the pencil icon nested under the 3 dots.
  4. Add a Main Content Zone to the Look by clicking the + Icon.
  5. Click on the Properties tab and select Lock Aspect Ratio with the zone still selected.  This ensures the main zone retains a 16:9 aspect ratio.  Resize the zone to the desired size.

  1. Add another zone on the Looks tab and resize it to fit along the bottom, make sure Lock Aspect Ratio is off but Snap Elements is on to help you position the zone below the Main Zone Repeat the above step to create the side zone, make sure it does not overlap with the bottom zone.  Note that this zone may be on the left or the right of the screen based on your preferences. 
  2. Note the zone sizes in the properties panel, this will be the ideal resolution to create content to for each zone.  

Select the desired command zone. 

  1. Go to Settings / Command
  2. Pick the zone from the dropdown.

Apply the layout to your display(s). 

Apply the layout to your display(s). 

  1. Open Venus Displays App from the Apps Menu located in the top right of the VCS landing page. Venus: My navigation has changed after updates.
  2. Select a display from the Displays page. 
  3. Under the Configuration tab, locate the Layout section. 
  4. Click Add Layout, select your L-wrapper Layout.
  5. Save the display.

Scheduling the look change
  1. Log into Venus Control Suite Venus Accounts: How do I log in to Venus Control Suite?
  2. Select Scheduling from the My Apps menu.
  3. Open an existing playlist or create a new playlist.

Assign displays to the playlist

  1. Click + next to Displays to select the displays the new playlist will appear on.
  2. A right side-out should appear that lists your account's displays. 
  3. Select the displays.  A check mark identifies which display(s) you have selected and generates a list under the Displays tile.
  4. Click on the X in the top right corner to close the slide-out.

Select Media

  1. Click + in the top corner of the Media Files tile. The Select Media menu will slide-out from the right side. 
  2. Locate the desired media file using the filter options. The media filter can limit results using file title, modified date, account name, association, file type, dimension, and associated tags.
  3. Select the desired media file(s) from the list within the Select Media menu by clicking +. The Media files list will populate with the selected media files. 
    1. Remove a media file from the list by clicking +, or remove all media files by clicking Remove All
  4. Click on the X in the top right corner to close the slide-out.
Schedule look changes at the playlist level or just on individual pieces of media.

Playlist level

  1. Once added on the playlist items, there will be an icon shown on it.
  2. Click on the summary title to add on the playlist.
  3. The Playlist Properties menu will open.
  4. Select from the list of look changes.
  5. Click Save.

Individual media item

  1. Select Playlist item.
  2. The media item properties slide-in will open.
  3. Select from the list of look changes.
  4. Click Save.

Saving a playlist

1. Select either Save or Save As from the drop-down menu. 
2. If you selected Save As, enter a new title for the Playlist.
