Topic

The purpose of this KB is to provide Livebook/Sport App users with information to get started utilizing their new system. There's a walk through of the AJT Dashboard, an overview of the MAM folder structure, links to KBs that provide step by step instructions on how to perform the most common actions to start a production. At the bottom is a Sport App overview of the interface.

Dashboard

To get started with the AJT Dashboard, go to http://www.dashboard.ajtsystems.com and log in using the credentials provided by Daktronics or select Register to create a new account.

  • Once logged in, the Home Page of the Dashboard will show latest package releases in the middle and your profile information on the right. Any system notifications will be noted in the top ribbon bar and can be accessed by clicking on the Notifications icon

  • Downloads - This is for software updates (Sport Apps and Camino). If you need to update your Camino license, instructions to do this are also located here
  • Network Packages - This is where packages for ESPN and other networks can be downloaded. The major networks have content installers which will place and install graphics on your system
  • Stock Packages - This is where free to use graphics packages live for any off network productions
  • Learning Center - Guides, Support Documents and How To articles live here to help support operation of your system
Media Asset Management (MAM) Folder

The most important folder on your system is the MAM folder. It's structure and organization are key to the graphics operating correctly from your system

  • The MAM folder is located at C:\ProgramData\AJTSystems\MAM and within it is a subfolder structure seen below. All systems come with AJT and USER subfolders to start. As you download packages, more folders will be added here.

  • AJT - for stock or AJT provided graphics 
  • USER - for custom items created by the user 
  • ESPN, NESN, NBA, Etc. - for network packages and assets
  • Within the network folders (C:\ProgramData\AJTSystems\MAM\ESPN) you will find a structure similar to the below

  • Graphics package folders designated by year will be here
  • LeagueAssets - team logos, headshots, wordmarks, color swatches, etc. live in this folder
  • Network and Sponsor Logos also will have their own designated folders containing primary and secondary versions as well as color swatches
  • Within the graphics package folders (C:\ProgramData\AJTSystems\MAM\ESPN\ESPN 2020) you will find folders labelled: 
    • Scoreboard - this is where all scorebug and go to break graphics will live
    • ShowInsertGraphics - Insert graphics are your lower thirds, full screen images, tombstones, player comps, etc. and those graphics will live here

Sport App User Interface

Once the correct assets and packages have been loaded into the MAM folder, you can open your sport specific Sport App program

There are 3 tabs labeled Playout, Stat Editor and Insert Editor that will change the look of the Sport App interface and they are accessed by using the tabs in the lower left-hand corner.

Playout Tab
Start with the Settings icon on the bottom right of the interface to open the Sport App Settings

  1. League and Teams - is for choosing the scoring mode of the Sport App (Pro League, NCAA Men/Women)
  2. Visitor and Home Teams - select the correct teams from the drop down, the “+” is for adding a team if the correct one isn't available, and the pencil icon is for editing the teams
    1. Roster icon - rosters can be brought into the system in 1 of 3 ways: manual entry, import from excel, or using the plugin (stats) to import from a connected stats interface 
  3. Scoreboard Feed (venue controller) - expand drop down to show how to toggle manual or auto from feed options
  4. Scoreboard - select different productions from the packages loaded into the MAM folder
  5. Video Format - select the output resolution of the Sport App content
At the top of the interface, the Green and Red Video windows are Preview and Program respectively. If you are using NDI or SDI, they can be independent channels. LE only supports Program out

Smart-Zoom icon - allows you to zoom into the graphic (toggle off to see full scene). It's the icon located above the yellow update button

Under the preview window - Header Message, Stat Slider, Go to break, Network Logos, Sponsor Logos (This section will be the same across all Sport Apps). Using the green PRV buttons will load your graphics into preview, and they can be taken into program using the red PGM button in the top of the interface, or the PGM button next to the PRV button in the respective sections

Center section 

This contains the Clock and Period info per Sport App. Three dot icon on top right of panels will allow you to toggle Auto/Manual from feed

Right side section - is for scoring, timeouts, penalties. Three dot icon on top right of panels will allow you to toggle fanfares
Stat Editor Tab

To configure your stats interfaces, select the stat plugin icon next to setting icon at the bottom right

  1. Select the options icon so you can see the fields needed to bring in the feeds
    1. Pro Sports - will need GameIDs to pull from the cloud and this is done by selecting the game from the drop down of Active Games
    2. College Sports - will need the Server Type selected from the drop down which will determine the rest of the information needed. If using FTP or HTTP,  Mode (FTP only) which can be passive or active, Server Name (this is location of the file), Path (this is any subfolder if applicable), then Username and Password. If using File or Folder Path as the Server Type, the file path location of the stacrew xml is need
  2. While in the Stat Editor Tab, you can hover over the stat columns on the right of the interface to show what each column stands for. For example, here the mouse is hovering over FGA and a pop up is giving an explanation of that field

  1. You can use the tabs at the top to toggle between player and team stats
  2. Selecting a player or team stat and then using the Stat Slider Playout function on the left of the interface will show those stats in preview or program according to the format you've chosen from the drop down
    1. NOTE: Not all packages support stat sliders so stats will then be done through insert graphics from the Insert Editor Tab

  1. In the Insert Editor Tab, the left section is labelled Show, the middle is the Page Field Editor and the right is your Image Preview
  2. Use the 3 dots icon under Show to create a new show, edit your existing show, duplicate or delete a show

  1. When making a New Show
    1. Point to the show directory first MAM > ESPN (network) > ESPN 2018 (sport package) > Showinsertgraphics 
    2. Give the Show a name (example – ESPN College Basketball)

  1. Click the New Page button and add a new graphics page

  1. Select a Template to use from Insert Graphics folder  
  2. Description will auto fill based on your template,*0001 but can be customized
  3. The Callup Number has to be four digits. Use “*” and the four digit call up then enter to send graphic to air. 

Page Field Editor

After creating a page, selecting it from show will open its properties under Page Field EditorV is for Visitor and H for home. Select the player who's stats you want to show from the dropdown. image.png

  1. Selecting the down arrow underneath each player will open the menu to see/edit Names, logos and extra stats

  1. At the bottom of the Page Field Editor will be manual entry fields that only pertain to that template to provide extra information

Page Layers

  • Layer labels will be next to the description of the pages 
    1. FG = foreground 1
    2. FG 2 = Foreground 2 etc. 
    3. If graphics are on the same layer, when one comes in the previous comes off (including the bug that’s on FG) 

The top Section in the center is to send the Scoreboard to Preview or Program  

  • The section under that is to send insert graphics to Preview/Program
