Layout Editor: How do I export and import Layouts

  • Product: Venus Professional, Venus Enterprise, Venus Framework
  • Components: DMP-8000 (version 8.71+), VP-6000 (version 30+) , Layout Editor
  • Control System: Show Control System (SCS), Venus Control Suite (VCS)- Venus Cloud-Based, Venus Local

The screen Layout Editor exports the layots as .json files.  It can import both .json and .layout files.  This allows  .layout files are from the previous Venus Layout Editor. 

This will backup an save everything except the zone colors.  

Steps

Downloading a Layout

  1. Open the Layout App.
  2. Click on the menu icon on the left side to open the Layouts page.

  1. Click Export to save the layout file locally as a backup.  

Upload a Layout

  1. Click on the menu icon on the left side to open the Layout Import page
  2. Click on the Import icon.  This will create an Open dialog.
  3. Navigate to the layout file to be exported. 
  4. Select the JSON or LAYOUT file and open.
👉If importing a .layout file, you will be prompted to enter in the overall layout size.
