Standard Video: How do I configure the 8-button network controller for my standard video rack?

The 8-button network controller is included in the FY22 Standard Video racks to set the display in different modes if/when the Studio One laptop is not available.

Environment

  • Product:  8 Button Network Controller
  • Components: KD-WP8 Virtual Keypad
  • Control System: Standard Video Rack FY22 Shipped after April 2021 

Steps

The configuration should be created and saved prior to installation. 
This KB provides the process for troubleshooting purposes.  

Source in the DMP

  1. Log into the DMP-8000 user interface.  How to log in via HTML web interface: DMP: How do I use the DMP-8000 HTML web user interface
  2. Navigate to the configuration tab (wrench). Then click on RTD
  3. Locate RossTalk from the Available Sources and click >>Add
  4. Save the configuration

Default Scripts

The scripts should be saved in C:\ProgramData\Daktronics\Vnet4\Content\system\macros\gpi
There should be 8 scripts - 1 for each button. An example of a script is shown in the image belowscript example.jpg

8-Button Network Control Panel Configuration

Log into the iOS App web interface that should be located on the All Sport Pro computer or tablet. 2021-09-07_10-32-50.jpg

The DMP control panel can be used to verify the triggers

Go to Services>DDS>Rosstalk
When the buttons are pressed, it will look like something below:

Wireshark can be also be used to monitor the triggers.
